Another big weekend of cricket 6s coming up at Harrow International School which unofficially could be named the home of club cricket in Bangkok but definitely the home of Southerners Cricket. Southerners welcome back the Thailand International Cricket Sixes once again for 2013 and this year we are fortunate to host 15 teams in this ever successful tournament organized by the guys at ACST, cricketing mates to all of us.
As you will see, the playing fields at Harrow have once again exceeded the high level of expectations that this school has as a minimum. We should all praise the school, the admin staff and the grounds staff for their hard work and commitment to supplying a great venue for the weekend though in my view most importantly, their total commitment in supporting league and Southerners cricket here in Bangkok. Harrow International School Bangkok is truly a great venue for both education and sporting activities.
The Southerners always pride ourselves in the way we play the game as well as our efforts to promote and assist junior cricket in rural Thailand. We continue to support cricket in upcountry Petchabun as we have done for over 10 years so with saying that, funds raised from the Southerners Bar this weekend and the odd cricket bat raffle will all help this support to continue. If any teams wish to donate or leave behind their cricket gear of any shape or size, this too will be highly appreciated by the club.
Enjoy the weekend fellow men in white, savior the time with your mates both on the field and off the field and no doubt cricket will be the winner.
